Homeostasis

Aug 06, 20261 min read

Homeostasis is the process where your body releases Insulin and Glucagon

It’s a balancing game.

When there’s too much Glucose in the blood Insulin is released to store the Glucose as Glycogen

Inversely when there’s not enough Glucose, Glucagon is released to break Glycogen back down into Glucose

This is done by the pancreas, where theres alpha cells that release Glucagon and beta cells to release Insulin.
