Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) is one of the Plasma protein that can be found in blood plasma.


This enzyme can be found in cells of the liver, heart, skeletal muscles and kidneys. So it’s often used together with Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) to determine Hepatic integrity.
