So let’s take a project where we are monitoring John while he tries a certain peptide.
We did a baseline blood panel where his Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was 25 U/L (normal and optimal).
After trying this peptide for a month we do another blood panel and see it went up to 55 U/L.
This is a solid indicator that his liver is not handling it well and the Hepatic integrity has gone down. Meaning, his liver cells are breaking down and releasing enzymes which ended up in the blood.
So:
- Baseline at 25 U/L
- New chemical not being handled well by liver
- Liver cells start breaking down and leaking Alanine aminotransferase (ALT)
- Measure again and see the excess
